Sandy asks…
Help me with my golf swing consistency?
Seems like some days I hit all my short irons perfectly…I don’t have to even think about my swing…I just do what feels natural. But those same days I can’t hit a wood or a long iron to save my life (typically slice or fade). Other days, I can hit my woods straight and far but I shank or slice all of my short irons, or hit dud iron shots (like 100 yards with a 7 iron).
Sometimes it helps to focus on certain aspects of my swing to temporarily solve the problem (for example, focus on leading with the hips on my wood shots, change my grip slightly, or focus on my backswing tempo on iron shots)…but for each new circumstance, it seems that I have to focus on a different apsect of my swing, such that I start to “micromanage” my swing which gets me all confused, tense, flustered, and bolloxed up.
Are there any good tips for “keeping it simple stupid”, so that my swing always feels natural and is always consistent, and I don’t have to worry about focusing on this detail or that detail? I suppose this is the 10 million dollar question in golf, but are there any good things that I should be keeping in mind?
Also, I tend to have slightly different swings, stances, and grips for different clubs. Should I try to work towards keeping the same swing and grip for all my clubs?

golf guide answers:
The number one thing to get consistency in your came to get a pre-shot routine on every shot of your game and I guarantee you every type of shot in your game will become more consistent. It’s what the pros’ do and what helped me out also.

Maria asks…
What is the hardest part of playing golf, the game is simple but challenging.?
I enjoy playing and watching others play yet have notice only a few golfers have this when they play and swing. Good golfers have it, and older golfers are better at it than others.

golf guide answers:
Well I am going to say they both have a realistic set of expectations. Very good players and older players both always try to play the shot they know they can hit, instead of the great shot. Poor players, especially younger ones, swing way out of control and try to hit the hero shot regardless of their odds of success.

Mark asks…
I take huge divots out of the grass when swinging at a golf ball.?
I’m fairly new to golf. I’ve had some lessons and the instructor says that I actually have a good swing. However, I always seem to get a chunk of the grass (or mat at the driving range). This actually hurts when I do it. I’m not sure what I’m doing. When I actually hit the ball, I hit it well but it seems like the ground is taking a ton of power out of my swing. Are there any simple things that I can do to help with this?

golf guide answers:
You might be either dropping your head towards the ball in the downswing, or you aren’t transferring enough weight forward in the downswing.
If you’re dropping your spine, try making swings with a magazine tucked into the back of your pants. Maintain contact with the magazine throughout the whole swing.
If you aren’t transferring your weight (which would cause you to hit the ground first) through the shot, try setting up with a regular yellow sponge under your lead foot. Make your backswing. When you start to come down, make an effort to really squish the sponge. The idea is to finish with around 80-90% of your weight on the forward foot.

Golf Clubs – How To Buy Golf Club?
August 23, 2009 by admin
Buy Golf Club. I started playing golf for almost 20 years when, in about 18 years old, I picked up my first set of golf clubs and took a trip to the local course with my dad. Since I can remember, at least from the age of six years, was trying to hit some golf balls with him. In fact, it was not for a weekend in which they do not see the old wake up bright and early, putting on his favorite golf clothes, grabbing their clubs and play golf all day.
For over 12 years asked me every Saturday and Sunday mornings to come. As I sat on the floor, eating cereal and watching Bugs Bunny on TV, he always tells me “Hey Jimmy, want to come along and knock a few balls in the air with your dad?” Be totally disinterested, just nodded my head back and forth and rolled his eyes, delightfully get my attention to my cartoons on Saturday mornings.
Then one day, as I was a bit older, into my teenage years, I figured I would finally take a trip with Dad and find out what this golf game was all about. What was so fun about hitting a golf ball into a hole? Why the excitement? Who would want to spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars on golf clubs? And what’s with those cheesy golf clothes and golf shoes?
Well it didn’t take long for me to become hooked on the game and finally understood the answers to all of those nagging questions I had floating in the back of my mind every time my Dad would head out to play golf on the weekends. From the very first day on the golf course, I was hooked! Soon enough, I wish I had started much earlier as a child.
My First Purchase: A New Set Of Golf Clubs
Once my dad realized that I was interested in playing golf on a regular basis, he insisted that I get a brand-new set of golf clubs. He promised me that if I paid half, he would cover the other half. And so I asked about my choices in buying golf clubs. I could find a used set of clubs at a decent price and save a lot of money, or I could make a larger investment into a set of custom golf clubs.
Here Is What I Learned
Buying used golf clubs is a perfect option for anybody that is new to the game. The investment is not nearly as much as new golf clubs and if for some reason you end up quitting, you might be out only $150 or so. Used golf clubs like this are the best choice for new players that want to test their interests.
New Golf Clubs
When it comes to buy new golf club, taking a set from a reputable golf equipment manufacturer may cost quite a bit of money, but for us seasoned players, there is nothing like it! This is especially true when you custom fit a set of new golf clubs that are built perfectly for your individual body type, size, and swing speed.

Putting Tips – Every Putt You Effort Should Be Driven By Self-Confidence
July 30, 2009 by admin

Putting Tips. You have probably heard this guidance previously, but it is worth repeating: Every shot you hit golf should have a objective behind it.
Your scorecard can only be improved by rising your abilities and having a knowledge of just how to properly prepare and push yourself on every shot you make. You ought to be asking yourself: What do I hope from this shot? What is a proper outcome?
Reasonable Objectives to Better Your Score
The key to becoming a better golf player and reducing your score is to totally avoid taking too many putt shots on the green. Regardless of how well you can skyrocket the ball from your tee shot and landing it on the green within rules, if you take an unacceptable amount of hitting the ball into the hole, the chance to improve your score was in vain. There is no excuse for this.
The Initial Goal
Do not confuse objectives with the expectations. An expectation is an action that is reasonable and one that should happen each time you make a decision on the result. A goal, on the other hand, is something in which you are reaching high for, but it may need a little time to reach. Once reached, the goal can then may be an expectation through repetition.
The initial objective you should have in golf is to drive the ball into the hole within 36 putts or fewer, on an 18 hole course. This means that you must hit two putts or less on each green.
This goal really becomes easier to get the closer you can hit the ball to the green, but those times where it lands 30 to 50 feet away from the hole, you’ve got yourself a major feat to accomplish. It’s going to take extreme focus to get long putt shots successful.
Make Each Putt Count
By accepting the challenge of this article to play every golf game with the goal of 36 or fewer putts, you’ve taken a big step towards improving yourself and your skill. However, do not let this challenge get in the way of your confidence.
When facing a long putt, you can have the tendency to get laziness and loss of confidence in knowing that you could make the shot. This may cause you to swing at the ball in a halfhearted matter and quit your goal before even trying.
Too Much Confidence can Hurt
Even if the shot appears to be very easy, the same negative result may happen as well. You may have been very successful in getting the ball close to the hole, but feel too confident and attack the ball with too much aggressiveness. Instead of staying focused, your overconfidence and lack of concentration may cause an easy 2′ foot putt to totally lose the hole.

Golf Tip – Getting Your Game to The Next Level
Golf tip. If you currently shoot over 100, which are probably new to the game and still learn how to play golf. Golf is a game that has a lot of practice and understanding. At their level, you’re just excited about going out to play. Unfortunately, more than 100 shots were aging very quickly, especially if you’re a person who by nature competitive. It’s easy to break 100 if you know what to do.
How to break 100
If you are new to the game, you still have not rooted any bad habits. In general, quite easy to teach the basics of good golf swing, as it is eager to learn and never question the teacher. Usually within a month or two, “over 100″ shooter can take 10-20 shots off your game. Once you break 100 on a regular basis, you begin to see the game differently.
If you shoot more than 90
If you currently shoot over 90, you are someone who needs to play more often. You’re probably playing a round of 20-30 years and most of these rounds of the tournament are the companies. Corporate tournaments are a clear wreck game. The usual format of struggle leading to hit the ball just as hard as you can try to get a unit that helps your team. Unfortunately, this leads to a huge slice with a driver that does not help your team at all. I know it’s fun to try to hit the ball as hard as you can, but if he was wailing on the way to play golf well, the whole world would be a professional. You will also find the short game very difficult.
How to break 90
If you swing easier and try to be more precise, it is surprising how many of your shots using the computer. You would greatly benefit from weekly lessons. The experience not only gives you a better swing, but will get you to the range and the course on a regular basis. Finally, you have to have at least a brief lesson in game to see how easy it can be. This will create a better understanding of the short game, which will make the practice more enjoyable.
If you shoot more than 80
You’re the kind of person that major clubs from the manufacturer love. Think you can “buy the game, so any opportunity to try to get the latest and best to take the clubs, not because you think your swing is the problem. A few weeks later that the great new club is not so big already, and is to return to his former party. At some point in their career have probably taken golf lessons 1-3 and always treat every golf tip you find. To break 80, you have to admit that no clubs. The aim is to develop a repeatable swing and a great short game. To create this large repeatable swing and short game, you have to work with a qualified teacher on a weekly basis. This whole process will not be easy because they basically have to re-learn the swing (making changes can cause your swing to hit poor shots in the first place because you are not used to it and that is between oscillations). If it is determined, it will start to hit some shots that surprised him completely.
If you shoot more than 72
You have a great swing. Will still go astray from time to time, but you can usually get back quite quickly. This creates stress and pressure that affects the rest of his game. The short game can not be as good as could be. Finally, you can take the game a little too seriously because you do not try to hit every shot perfectly. This may lead to second guess his swing is undoubtedly problems when you are on the course.
How to break Par
You must find the time to do serious work on your short game. If it is hard to do what the course, you can chip and pitch balls in his backyard and a putt in the interior carpet each night. This dedication to the short game is what will allow you to shoot good numbers even if your swing is at its best. Also reduce pressure on your approach shots because if you can get the ball up and down with regularity, no big deal if you miss the odd green. When you work in full swing trying to work on the weaker clubs in his bag and hit the ball is poor. Also, forget the distance. Concentrate on swinging ever more than 80% capacity. If you can resist the temptation to hit the ball very hard not to lose their successes have strayed far from the line, eliminating the need for a miracle shot to get a copy of the game itself. If you explain a little to reduce their stress levels allowing you to switch to automatic mode, instead of having to grind out all the time.
