The Top Of Your Swing

Your backswing has been started and the club is now over and above your head. Avoid swinging your body at this point because it will damage consistency. The club is in the air and should be pointing towards your target line. The majority of your weight should be stressed on the right foot, and the left knee should be slightly bent inward.

The right knee will have a slight bend throughout the entire backswing and will support the power to come from your body. It is acceptable to permit your left foot to rise a bit at the top of your backswing, but keep it to a minimum as it may throw your accuracy off a little. It’s better to exercise keeping your left foot grounded if possible.

Everything In Its Place

The moment of contact is now upon you and at the top of your backswing you are supposed to experience a remarkable mass of energy and power, rolled tightly in your body, just waiting to release and hurl the ball flying.

You are supposed to feel confident and athletic. The shoulders should be at a full 90 degrees and your hips turned to approximately 45 degrees. These angles are not set in stone, just generalities.  Each golfer has dissimilar levels of flexibility and technique.

Try hard to practice your backswing as often as possible. And you do not need to be at the driving range or on a golf course to do so. Each opportunity you get, simply stand in front of a mirror so you can notice your body parts moving and following through with the proper technique. It’s proper to have a friend check out your backswing for constructive criticism. This way he or she can let you recognize of any tweaks that need to be made.

  • Be sure that your head is centered over the ball as best possible.  You may allow a small amount of lateral motion if needed.
  • The left arm should be straight throughout the entire backswing, however, a small amount of bending that is acceptable.
  • The left shoulder should be tucked snug underneath your chin.
  • The right arm should be folded smoothly into your side and brush across the rib cage.
  • The right knee should always maintain its bend throughout the entire backswing.
  • Your body weight should be shifted considerably to the right foot when turning your body behind the ball.

Beginner’s Golf Lessons – Where Do You Start?

Beginners golf. Therefore, you have decided to take the great game of golf? I started playing golf at age 10 to reduce some old golf clubs that belonged to my grandfather, the whole golf club was formed by three or four different brands and different golf club head and shaft of materials. I started with a couple friends to go to the local public golf course and just try to hit the ball watching the other players on the field. Now, I definitely do not recommend taking this approach, as I have followed for 5 years as well as any improvement in my game. I should have taken golf lessons from beginners to the age of 10 years is a good age to start the game molding. Now I’m not saying it can not start golf at an older age as an adult, or mature, and they certainly can. Some people are natural to have a perfect golf swing from the beginning, but for most of us have to take classes.

So, where to start? The first thing we need is a set of golf clubs. Depending on your financial situation and its seriousness of wanting to learn to play golf and play golf, will be a factor in which clubs to buy. Your first decision will be the amount you wish to invest in a set of clubs. If money is a problem, consult your local classifieds or eBay at a second hand. If you decide you want to pay for a new set of clubs that could pay several hundred dollars and up to a thousand or more above the last mark of the golf club set. More research, Internet search, you can often find certified pre-owned golf clubs at a good price and in excellent or mint. Other sites also have a stock liquidation or closure of golf courses which are usually discounted because the manufacturer only carried out the latest and greatest model. Remember, every time you buy the way your golf clubs, you need to get some details – the golf club length, shaft flex, club head material that affect the weight of the club and the grip material. (Do not forget golf balls, tees, golf shoes, a golf glove and a golf bag, oh and an umbrella for golf if you live in Scotland or Ireland!)

Well, so are ready to go. In my opinion, the start for beginners is to take private (or group) instruction. At the age of 15 or 16 I took golf lessons from professional golf at my club and my game improved. It all depends on how much you are willing to spend money to learn golf in your schedule, you have to fit the lessons around their commitment to work or school. The best approach for the novice who does not know the first thing about the techniques of golf (grip, posture, alignment, etc) is to start immediately with several golf lessons with a professional in your area.

Once you have learned the basics and can swing the club and hit the ball, go to your local golf driving range and hit a few dozen balls every two days. Then, continue with the programs of golf until you feel comfortable to go play a round of golf in their local public golf course. I do not think it worthwhile to join a private golf club at this stage, unless you have friends or family to play golf and are willing to let you tag along and maybe help with some techniques. This may be a cheaper option for golf lessons, receiving one of your friends or family to teach you golf – just make sure they are at a level that will teach you the techniques of good, because there is nothing worse than learning bad habits from the beginning. I think the best experience is to start a professional golf instructor.

Once you’ve advanced a little and no longer willing or able to continue with their classes, there are several options available to improve your game. To begin, search for free online golf lessons, you can find free golf instruction videos that you can learn. Another method is to buy a DVD golf instruction or series of them. There are plenty of other online resources for golf, such as downloading e-books – you can find different books on different aspects of the game of golf, golf swing, golf fitness, etc. Finally, you might consider adopting a Lesson number one online golf school to continually improve the game and to keep you motivated. Normally send (or download from the Internet) a golf lesson per week with videos, reports, letters and emails, including consultations.

Finally, golf lessons for beginners, it is best to start walking right into the instruction of a professional golf course, pass the golf driving range, and then on the golf course. Consider other online resources to improve your golf game and finally, the great secret, practice, practice and practice!

Beginner’s Guide How To Swing Golf Clubs (Part 1)

Golf swing is at the center of the golf game and it is not possible to hope to play a reasonably good game of golf if one is unable to produce a consistent and good professional golf swing. Golf specific exercises play a basic role in helping any golf player dramatically improve on their game quicker and perfect various aspects of their game much more quickly.

Studying how to make a great golf swing each time you step up to the ball need years of exercise and skill. When practicing your swing, it must be one fluid motion of grace and skillfulness, from the start of the backswing to impact, and finally, the follow through.

The Backswing

The backswing is the initial movement of the golf club and it is responsible for creating and defining everything that follows. If you have a bad backswing, then unfortunately anything else that follows will be unsatisfactory and the end result will be poor shot.

Once you are set up and in position to get ready for your shot, begin the backswing by moving your club slowly and keep the clubhead as close to the ground as possible.

Do not move the club too quick as this may cause a steep swing plane and minimize your power and accuracy. And be sure that your left shoulder is slightly higher than the right shoulder (right-handed players). Your shoulders, arms, and hips should all be moving together in one fluid motion.

Golf players that start their backswing off with just their arms and hands have a tough time learning to hit with sufficient power on a consistent basis. You must learn to synchronize all of your body parts at one time. The key is not to think too much about it, just turn and you will feel your arms, shoulders, and upper legs moving together. Just go with the flow.

As You Turn

One time your backswing is in motion, your body will start its turn and your right arm will begin to fold inside. The left arm should not be stiff, but remain somewhat straight.  Your right elbow should be snuggled within a few inches of your body throughout the whole backswing. At this point, everything should be turning naturally and your weight will begin to shift.

Once your club shaft is in the air and pointing straight back, your wrists should begin to bend naturally. At this stage of the backswing, it is key not to tighten your grip.  Keep it loose and casual, yet in control at all times.

Keep turning everything gracefully as far as your left shoulder starts to snuggle itself underneath your chin. The left knee will start to bend toward the other knee. The club is now in the air and over top of your head. You are now ready for the downswing.

If you are a beginners golf player and taking golf lessons are outside your reach, for whatever reason, whether it be scheduling or finances, all wish is not lost because there are plenty of other resources of golf lessons that you can learn, from the comfort of your own home, and on your own time.

Today’s information age has provided you with the means of studying the basics of golf through different magazines, golf-related computer programs, and golf guideline videos.

Golf Magazines Are A Fantastic Method To Pick Up Lessons

As a beginners golf player  you can take a look at your local bookstore and pay a visit the sporting area of the magazine section.  You will find out quite a little of magazines dedicated fully to golf.  For instance, the magazines “Golf Magazine” and “Golf Digest” consist of material that is mostly composed of golf lessons.

What better method to get motivated than by watching Tiger Woods making incredible shots from a televised tournament? Golf instructional videos have always been my favorite choice when reviewing instructions and tips released by the pros.

They allow you to see close-up views of every part of a typical swing, provide various angles of a particular technique, and usually explain a sequence in slow motion for you. And even if the video does not have slow-motion footage, guess what – you can pause and hit slow motion whenever you want with a remote control!

Videos make a good effort to duplicate the type of instruction you may receive a real golf lesson.   However, they are not individualized and you may have to procure on a few series of tapes in order to encompass all of the questions and problems you may need improvement.

7. The downswing should be viewed as an “uncoiling” of the body. Your hips turn first, followed by the shoulders, then the arms and hands, and finally the clubhead. Consider the movement the same as cracking a whip. The majority of your weight should then be transferred to the left foot during the downswing.

8. You must always follow through once the ball has been hit and is soaring towards the target. If you do not follow through, you can risk injuries to the arms and torso, as well as decreasing the speed of the ball.
